Douglas J. McCormick, Sr.

February 19, 1952 – September 18, 2021
Douglas J. McCormick, Sr. of Carl Junction, Missouri passed away
surrounded by family and friends on September 18, 2021 after a long
illness. Douglas was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy and served
from 1970-1993. He worked in the IT field for several years ending with his
retirement from First American Title in 2014. Douglas happily volunteered at
the Ronald McDonald House in Joplin, Missouri from 2014 – 2018. He loved
providing help and comfort to the families of sick children.
Douglas truly enjoyed fishing and boating, spending time with his grandkids
and attending their special events, “glamping” and traveling and he was a
member of the Power Squadron of Grove, Oklahoma. He was also a huge
fan of the St. Louis Rams, Cardinals and Blues.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ethel (Bush)
McCormick of New Jersey; Brother, David McCormick of New Jersey and
Brother, Elmer “Sonny” McCormick of New Jersey.
Douglas is survived by his wife Heidi Ann McCormick of Carl Junction,
Missouri; Sister Jean Pierce of MA; Sister Barbara Thomas of IA; Sister Pat Shute of NJ and Brother Donald McCormick of SC; Son Douglas J. McCormick, Jr. and wife Andrea McCormick of St.
Louis, Missouri; Step-children Dustin (Skip) Briscoe of Washington; Amber
Turner, Ashlee Briscoe and Brittany Briscoe all of Carl Junction, Missouri;
Grandchildren Maya and Bennett McCormick, Bailee Rickard, Mary and
Maggie Turner and two grandsons soon to be delivered.
The memorial service will be available electronically via Zoom on Friday,
September 24, 2021 at 6:30pm CST.

McCormick’s home at 5pm CST.
