Barbara Jean  Peek

Mrs. Barbara Jean Peek, 79, of Neosho, Missouri, formerly of Webb City, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, April 26, 2020, while at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.

Barbara entered this life on November 3, 1940, in Carthage, Missouri, born to the late Loren and Josephine (Hammond) Hornback. She was raised in the Atlas Community and was a 1958 graduate of Duenweg High School. On February 20, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bob L. Peek and to this union two children were born. Barbara was a devoted homemaker throughout her life. They resided in Webb City for several years. In 1987, they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, returning home ten years later in 1997. She enjoyed sewing projects and family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Peek on March 16, 1999; and a sister, Kathleen.

Barbara is survived by her two children, Craig Peek and wife, Shannon, of Neosho, Missouri and Shelia Mishler and husband, Brent, of Galena, Kansas; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Yvonne Rowe of Heber, Arkansas, Patsy Spencer of Duenweg, Missouri and Gayle Wheat of Parsons, Kansas; a brother, Randall Hornback of Joplin, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Private graveside services will be held on Friday morning, May 1, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Moore officiating. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
