Mary Margaret Rolleg

January 5, 1922–June 8, 2018

Joplin, MO–Mary Margaret Rolleg, age 96, Joplin, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Morningside East, in Springfield, Missouri after a brief illness.

Mary was born January 5, 1922 in Monett, Missouri, daughter of the late Joseph Dieterich and Louise Diebold Dieterich. She was a dance instructor beginning at the age of 13 with her sister, Josie. She married Harold E. Rolleg on February 13, 1947, and the couple moved to Joplin in 1947. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, attending games in St. Louis into her 90’s. She also enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and visiting the casinos.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold, who died December 12, 2016, and her sister, Josie Linebarger.

Survivors include her three children and their spouses: Martin and Barbara Rolleg of Spring Branch, Texas; Marcia and Robert Holme of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Marla and Richard Hufford of Springfield, Missouri. Other survivors include her sisters, Joann Combes of Houston, Texas, and Dorothy Horine of Springfield, Missouri; her grandchildren, Shelley Rolleg Eastland and husband Mike of Katy, Texas, Sheryl Rolleg Lyons and husband Victor of Houston, Texas, Cheryl Stephens and Rob Eggleston of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lt. Col. Don Rolleg of St. Louis, Missouri, Zachery Holme of Colorado Springs, Lisl Hufford and Erich Hufford both of Springfield; eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Father J. Friedel officiating.
