Robert Elmer “Mickey” Joles, Jr.

Robert Elmer “Mickey” Joles, Jr., age 74, left this life on December 4, 2017, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Mickey was born on August 22, 1943, in Ontario, Oregon, to Robert “Red” and Desdimonia “DL” (Haddon) Joles.
Survivors include his children, Robert Joles, Tina Joles, Patricia Joles and Jerry Joles, all of California, Debbra Koester Joles of Colorado and Pam Tarrant’s daughter, Vanessa; his siblings, Charles Joles and wife, Linda, of Idaho, Ollie Lee Joles and wife, Barbara, of Georgia, and Holly Bennett and husband, Brian, of Missouri; his brother-in-law, Carl Bailey, of Missouri; as well as his many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Red” and Desdimonia “DL” (Haddon) Joles; his step-mother, Darlene Joles; a daughter, Joylynn Joles; a great-niece, Destiny Joles; and his long-time companion, Pamela Tarrant.
Mickey lived his life the way he wanted to and he walked his own road.  He always had a story or two to tell about his family and his Navy buddies.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Until we meet again—fly high, Mickey.
Graveside services with full military honors are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.  Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jay Joles, Charles “Charlie” Joles, Jr., Ollie Lee “Bub” Joles, Carl Bailey, Taylor Bailey and Brian Bennett with Amie Wright, Sr., Rick Cromwell, Steve Calhoun and Matt Shively as honorary pallbearers.  Online condolences may be sent through our website http://www.thornhill-dillon.com.  Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
