Betty Nordine Henson, age 77, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at her home with family by her side.
She was born May 10, 1940, in Greenwood, Missouri, to Roland and Susie (Mitchell) Crull.
Nordine worked in sales for Buck Stove and most recently worked in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart on West 7th Street in Joplin, Missouri. She enjoyed dancing and for several years, she taught ballet and tap dance. Nordine enjoyed working in the garden and making crafts, but most of all, she loved her family and always looked forward to having them at the house to cook for them and visit. She was a member of the Second Assembly of God Church for over 40 years and she worked with the Missionettes. Nordine never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
She married Larry Henson on April 16, 1960, and he survives. She is also survived by one son, Michael Henson, and wife, Lisa, of Joplin, Missouri; two daughters, Michelle Brust and husband, Richard, of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Suzanne Greer and husband, Terry, of Joplin and; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Nordine was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Russell Crull.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the Second Assembly of God Church with Pastor John Veazey officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Those gentlemen honoring her life by serving as pallbearers will be Mike Henson, Chris Greer, Ryan Greer, Garrett Greer, Brady Henson, Matt Henson, Noah Brust, Justin Stone and Heath Crowder. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
